We are excited to announce the expansion of the work of Access Books to the San Francisco Bay Area!
The first Access Books Bay Area project took place on March 5th, 2016 at Costaño elementary school in East Palo Alto. Volunteers from Jordan Middle School in Palo Alto joined with the school community in East Palo Alto to refurbish their school library with new books, furniture and paint, creating a vibrant and well-stocked reading haven for the students at the school.
We are currently searching for candidates for our next school project. If you are a school in the Bay Area that would like to partner with Access Books Bay Area to get more high quality pleasure reading titles into your library and classrooms and into the hands of your students, and you serve primarily low income students, please apply by clicking here.
Want to learn more about the work of Access Books Bay Area and how you can get involved? Join us April 22nd for a relaxing evening of wine and hors d’oeuvres in a beautiful garden setting, entertainment, a silent auction, and information about our latest project. Click here for more details!
Access Books Bay Area needs your donations! In order to make our first service project a reality, including the purchase of new hardcover books, furniture, paint, and supplies, we need to raise approximately $20,000 for each project we conduct. Every penny raised will go towards our ongoing projects, as we are a completely volunteer organization.
Would your group or organization like to volunteer for future Bay Area projects? Contact Amanda Collins, director of Access Books Bay Area, or see the Access Books Volunteer page for more information about how to get involved.
